Getting Started

Here's a quick guide that will show you how to use WishlistFactory for creating private, secure wishlists for your friends and families!

Step 1: Create an Account

First thing first, you need to create an account at WishlistFactory. You can create a new account on the homepage.

Step 2: Create a Group

After you sign up, log in to your account and Click on "My Groups", on the left menu. You can only create wishlists for People in your Groups. In this area you can create a new group(You'll automatically be in charge of this new group) by clicking Create A New Group.

Step 3: Add People to Your Group

Once your group has been created, the next step is to add people to it. You can do this 2 ways: invite people to join your group(if they already have an account at WishlistFactory) or create a new account for someone.

If you are inviting someone with an existing WishlistFactory account to your group, they'll see an invitation to your group the next time they log into their account.

If you're creating an account for someone, they will automatically be added to your group once their account has been created!

Step 4: Create a Wishlist

To create a new wishlist for someone, click on Create New Wishlisht in the left menu. You can then name your new wishlist(something like Dave's Birthday, for example) and select which person the Wishlist is for(you can choose from anyone in any of your groups). Remember This! Wishlists that are created for you can be seen by anyone you share a group with.

Step 5: Add Items to the Wishlist

Once the Wishlist has been created, you can then add Items to it! Wishlist Items have different attributes that tell other people more about the item. You can group items by category, price range, and you can also link Items to a website by copying and pasting the web address(also known as a URL) to an Item.

Another helpful thing about Items are Status. Anyone who has bought something on your Wishlist for you can then mark off the item as Purchased(one of many choices) by changing the Item's status. You can do this by clicking Edit next to an Item.
